NICE training includes meeting all state and federal requirements to be a practicing Caregiver. Course content meets or exceeds all state and federal required classroom hours and readies the student for clinical training. NICE also offers education beyond the basics for existing caregivers and Caregiver seeking to build skills and competencies.
The academic portion of this course will be hosted on a virtual LMS and the clinical portion will be conducted in-person through contract services.
The NICE Caregiver course is a comprehensive cloud-based training program to prepare individuals for careers as Caregiver. The program revolves around “The Residents,” a three-hour, Hollywood-quality movie that depicts the life of a newly hired Caregiver. The training is complemented with animated simulations; informative video interviews with real-life medical personnel; and 180 content videos, quizzes, and practice tests.
The NICE Caregiver course goes beyond helping students learn required skills and achieve Caregiver certification. It also prepares them for the emotional and interpersonal challenges of the job—as well as its rewards.
A Caregiver is a person who assists with activities of daily living needs and help ensure well-being for people who may be ill, recovering from a surgery or living with chronic disease. Caregiver tasks are performed as a part of an intra-disciplinary treatment plan developed with a registered professional nurse including bathing, eating, toileting, mobility, and dressing, bedside care, including assigned procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Caregiver work closely with the person and often have the best understanding of the residents’ needs and wishes, developing ongoing relationships as they are closely involved in the persons day to day life and bring that insight to the healthcare team.
During the course of a shift, the Caregiver is required to maintain accurate records of completed tasks and outcomes of care for all assigned patients. This will include vital signs, observations, and changes they observe.
